LEA is a space for research in visual arts creation sheltered by a community of professional artists. The 200sqm space provides its artists with fully equipped facilities to materialize different lines of work, both in the creation of work and in the exhibition, concept and personal development of the artist. In addition, the LEA community, formed by a network of international collaborators, enables the expansion of the work carried out within a program of exhibitions in galleries and museums, talks with professionals or analysis sessions and artistic clinics. Our artists also have a patronage program aimed at finding people who, interested in their research, fully or partially cover their stay in the laboratory.

To access LEA, an experimentation project will be requested, consisting of lines of action/research that pose a challenge in the artist's production. All of LEA's facilities and tools are shared, so artists can use the space according to their needs at each moment or project. Each artist will be able to decide the time slot of work by choosing 4 shifts among the 12 available (one shift is 6 consecutive hours. The morning shift is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the afternoon shift is from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ). The minimum stay in LEA is 6 months, reviewable every year with the possibility of extending the stay. Artists will also be able to access LEA by opting for the format FULL TIME artist residency where they will have their own area in the laboratory (not shared) of about 10sqm, for a duration of 3 months, with or without accommodation.

LEA is much more than a place to work, it is an international community of high-level visual artists, which presents itself to galleries, curators, patrons or companies interested in artists from various disciplines. With this aim, LEA publishes an annual cataloguethat compiles the work of all LEA artists, and distributes it to galleries and art centres.

Continuing the LEA's work for the interaction and consolidation of links and networks, we have created a complete program of activities exclusively for LEA artists. It goes from recreational activities to bond between artists, to talks with personalities from the world of culture, portfolio samples to professionals, meetings with patrons, collectors or follow-up meetings.
